VIBE Class – Release

Release “chill vibe” class is a gentle and introspective form of yoga that focuses on passive stretching and deep relaxation. It is designed to target the deep connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments, joints, and fascia, rather than the muscles. Poses are held for an extended period, typically ranging from 3 to 5 minutes or even longer.

Release begins with a few minutes of centering and mindfulness, allowing students to let go of external distractions and tune into their breath and body sensations. The instructor may guide the students through a short meditation or breathing exercises to cultivate a sense of calm and presence.

Once everyone is centered, the class transitions into physical practice. The poses are mostly seated or lying down, and the emphasis is on finding a comfortable and supported position. Props such as bolsters, straps and blocks are often used to provide support and help the participants relax deeply into each pose.

In Release, the aim is not to push or strain the body but to surrender into the stretch, allowing gravity to gently open up the targeted areas. The instructor encourages the students to find their edge, to the point where they feel a moderate sensation of stretch or tension, and then to relax and soften into it. This approach helps release physical and energetic blockages, promoting greater flexibility, circulation, and joint mobility over time.

Throughout the class, the instructor may offer gentle guidance on body alignment and adjustments to ensure that participants are in a safe and comfortable position. They also provide verbal cues to encourage relaxation, mindfulness, and surrender to the present moment.

Release incorporates elements of mindfulness and meditation, as the slower pace and longer holds allow for a deeper exploration of the mind-body connection. Students are encouraged to observe their thoughts, sensations, and emotions without judgment, cultivating a sense of self-awareness and inner stillness.

Towards the end of the class, there is a period of guided relaxation Savasana, allowing the body to integrate the benefits of the practice.

Release provides a peaceful and meditative experience, promoting physical and mental well-being, deep relaxation, and a greater sense of inner balance.
