VIBE Class – Align

Align is like Yoga 101, an introductory class that aims to provide beginners with a foundational understanding of yoga practice. It is designed to introduce students to the basic principles, postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and relaxation methods commonly used in yoga.

The class begins with a brief introduction to yoga, explaining its origins, philosophy, and benefits. The instructor may also talk about the importance of proper alignment, mindfulness, and the mind-body connection in yoga practice.

After the introduction, the class moves into a warm-up session, which involves gentle stretching exercises to prepare the body for the yoga postures. This helps to improve flexibility, increase blood circulation, and prevent injuries.

Next, the instructor guides students through a series of basic yoga poses. These poses may include standing postures, seated postures, forward bends, back-bends, twists, and balancing poses. The instructor provides detailed instructions on how to enter and exit each pose, as well as modifications or variations to accommodate different body types and abilities.

Throughout the class, emphasis is placed on proper breathing techniques. The instructor guides students on how to synchronize breath with movement, fostering a deep sense of relaxation and focus. Pranayama exercises may also be introduced, teaching students various breathing techniques to enhance their overall well-being.

Towards the end of the class, there is typically a cool-down phase, which involves gentle stretching and relaxation poses. This allows the body to cool down gradually, reducing the risk of muscle soreness and promoting a sense of calmness.

Throughout the class, the instructor will incorporate mindfulness techniques, encouraging students to stay present and attentive to their breath, body sensations, and thoughts. This helps to cultivate a state of mental clarity and inner peace.

Align is slower-paced and accessible to people of all fitness levels. The focus is on building a strong foundation, understanding proper alignment, and developing body awareness. It is a safe and welcoming environment for beginners to explore the practice of yoga and begin their journey towards improved physical and mental well-being.
